According to a recent Kiplinger report, the worst is over. “Houses haven’t been this affordable since appliances came in harvest gold or avocado green.” Low interest rates should encourage more buyers to act. In NW Wisconsin, the average interest rate on a 30-year fixed is just under 4%.

Another positive sign, according to the National Association of Realtors, existing homes sales increased during the summer and fall of 2011.
