Upper NW Wisconsin is closer than you think, and your drive is now even easier.
Here in the Gordon-Wascott-Minong-Solon Springs-Barnes area, we’re in an undiscovered corner of Northwest Wisconsin. But if you’re looking for a place up north, this is a neighborhood you should know about.
We have the Minong Flowage, the Eau Claire chain of lakes, the Gordon St Croix Flowage, the Brule, Saint Croix, and Namekagon rivers, and dozens more great lakes and streams. We have miles of trails and billions (well, almost) of acres of public land for you to hunt or explore. Because this area is less well-known than certain other destinations, you can often find some great values. That’s true whether you’re looking for lake homes, cabins, building lots, or hunting land.
Because we’re farther north, some people mistakenly believe it’s a longer drive from Minneapolis or Saint Paul. The fact is, we’re much closer than places like Hayward, Seeley, or Cable. Check it out on the map. To get here from the Twin Cities, just head up 35 and hang a right at Hinckley.
From there, head east toward Minong. Once you approach Minong, you’re in our neighborhood. We’re closer than you think, and the last leg of your journey has just gotten easier.
It’s been a few years since Highway 77 was widened and straightened between Web Lake and Minong, and that made a huge difference. Now the road has been widened and repaved between Danbury and Web Lake.
So remember… Just head north and hang a right at Hinckley. We’re closer than you think, and your drive is easier. And, did I mention scenic? It’s one of the prettiest “up north” stretch of road.
