In recent years, this grandfathered-in cabin has been added on to, renovated, and totally updated. Originally, however, it was built before the days of modern shoreline setback rules. Back then, it was considered perfectly OK to build you cabin or lake home with its front wall less than a canoe-length from the water’s edge.

This cabin’s original owners liked the idea of being close to the water, and you will, too. Your front yard will be perfect for parties, or for just relaxing by the lake. And when the sun sets, the final embers are fading in your campfire, and it’s finally time to turn in, you can fall asleep to the sound of loons, waves, and the wind in the pines. No worries. Tomorrow is another day at the cabin. If you want, go ahead and sleep in.
