Throughout the United States, the resort and second home market is doing well.
As defined by the National Association of Realtors, seasonal housing is at least 20% of housing stock. As shown on the map in the report, the counties of NW Wisconsin are a destination second home area.
Throughout the country there was an average sales increase of 48% year over year during the June-September 2020 period, and 81% had year over year sales gains. Sixty eight percent of vacation homes sold in less than one month compared to previous years.
A resort location had 39% of second home sales, the location where most buyers preferred to purchase a second home.
