Barnes, Wisconsin

Barnes, Wisconsin is located north of Hayward and about halfway between Solon Springs and Drummond. It lies at the western edge of Bayfield County, and had a population of 769 at the last census. Most of the businesses, restaurants, and taverns in Barnes are located along County N, just east of Highway 27 and just north of the Eau Claire Chain of Lakes. You’ll find lodging available at resorts, cabin rentals, and VRBO lake homes.

As a Realtor specializing in lake homes, cabins, and waterfront real estate, I absolutely love Barnes. That’s because Barnes is home to the Eau Claire Chain of Lakes that includes 992-acre Upper Eau Claire Lake, 902-acre Middle Eau Claire Lake, and 802-acre Lower Eau Claire Lake. The Eau Claire Chain also includes Birch Lake, Bony Lake, and Robinson Lake. Nearby, you’ll find several smaller lakes like Pickerel Lake.

For more details on these lakes, please check out my Barnes Area Lakes pages. To get there, just click on NW WI Lakes and Rivers in the menu above.
