NW WI Bike Routes: Gordon, Wascott, Whitefish, St Croix

Favorite NW Wisconsin Bike Routes: Gordon, Wascott, Whitefish, St Croix (Part 1)

Looking for good places to bike in northwestern Wisconsin? Check out this loop in the Gordon-Wascott area.

This loop begins on the north shore of the Gordon Flowage, where a tavern called The North Shore is a great place for post-ride lunch and refreshments. You could also begin your ride elsewhere along the route; if you start in Gordon, The Buckhorn is a good spot for post-ride refreshments.
This clockwise route takes you past the Gordon Flowage (also known as the Saint Croix Flowage), Whitefish Lake, Leader Lake, and dozens of smaller lakes and ponds. Along the way, you’ll cross the Saint Croix River twice.
Here’s the route you’ll travel in Parts 1 and 2 of this video: Flowage Lane, a brief stretch on the shoulder of Highway 53, Spruce Avenue, Y, Bass Lake Road, Cranberry Lake Road, Lost Lake Road, Mail Road, M, Stuckey. If you’re feeling ambitious, you’ll also have lots of other options for side routes and variations.
