Minong, Wisconsin

Minong is located at the crossroads of Highway 77 and US 53; it lies about halfway between Solon Springs and Spooner. On 77, it’s the largest town between Danbury and Hayward. Technically, Minong is a village around 500 people that’s located within the town of Minong.

Also within the town of Minong: Dozens of wonderful lakes, nearly all of them located in the area west and northwest of the village of Minong. These lakes include the Minong Flowage, Gilmore Lake, Nancy Lake, Pokegema Lake, Horseshoe Lake, Big Bass Lake, and Upper, Middle, and Lower Kimball Lake.

Meanwhile, back in the village of Minong, you’ll find groceries, hardware, gifts, fishing and hunting supplies, one of the nation’s largest boat dealers, and a number of taverns and restaurants that offer great informal dining options. Minong also happens to be the headquarters of Link Snacks Inc., makers of internationally known Jack Link’s Beef Jerky.
