Lake Nebagamon (Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin)

This 914 acre lake is located in the east-central Douglas County; most locals pronounce it “Nuh-BAG-uh-mon.”  It has a shoreline of 10.74 miles, a maximum depth of 56 feet, and a mean depth of 20 feet.  In it, you’ll find northerns, walleyes, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and panfish.  Secchi disk readings are around 12 feet.

The village of Lake Nebagamon is located on the north side of the lake.  As you can see from the aerial, most of the shoreline is heavily developed.  Most homes and cabins tend to be in the medium to upper price ranges.

Although fishing is good, on summer weekends anglers are wise to get out early and get off the water by later morning.  Lake Nebagamon is popular with jet skiers and it’s also popular with boaters and water-skiers.  It has good public access, resorts and campgrounds, and nearby golf courses.
